Growing up in a rapidly evolving digital economy in India, I have often wondered how large eCommerce companies like Amazon or eBay manage their supply chains. At a time when freightage has been increasing and global supply chains are witnessing more complicated pipelines, it would be a privilege for me to be a part of the supply chain management sector. In India, the eCommerce industry has expanded rapidly over the last couple of decades. This has paved the path for tremendous career growth. Equating crucial elements like timely delivery of products, customer satisfaction, and flawless logistics management, I decided to pursue a career in this field. The current and future trends in eCommerce resonate with the success story of professionals working in the logistics and supply chain sector. Now that I have set my foot in this dynamic industry and received my initial professional exposure, it’s time to explore the industry deeper. To streamline my career with a globally recognized degree, I decided to pursue the Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of South Australia.

I hail from a progressive Indian family, where I enjoyed a supportive study environment back at home all these years. I cleared my Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations under the ICSE Board in 2014 and 2017, respectively. In my intermediates, I studied Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, and Computer Application. Next, I got myself admitted to Adamas University to pursue my BBA. Now that I have knowledge in both administrative and commercial fields, I am well-poised to delve into a career in supply chain management.

After I graduated in 2020 with a CGPA of 8.7, I got the opportunity to work with one of the largest supply chain management companies in India, Aegis Logistics. However, my job profile with this company was that of an accountant, and I made up my mind to hone managerial skills to work in the administrative hierarchy after progressing in my career. The last three years of my career have significantly transformed my professional outlook. Working with senior supply chain managers and receiving the right kind of guidance, I realized the potential that this industry holds for me. I have also noticed professionals with a globally recognized degree scaling up the professional ranks and enjoying better salary packages. Visualizing myself working in the shoes of an accomplished supply chain manager, I decided to pursue an industry-oriented course in this domain, now that I also have three years of experience in one of the leading companies, I am familiar with the basic operations. Aligning my existing skill and professional goals, I look forward to pursue the desired program from your esteemed university.

Although I was primarily responsible for handling accounts and administration, my interest in supply chain management impressed the higher authorities. In the last couple of years at Aegis Logistics, the company entrusted me with some core responsibilities related to mitigating supply chain bottlenecks. Amidst a rapidly evolving industry, it was gratifying for me to hone fresh skills. Since I also studied Computer Applications in the past, I found it easy to equip myself with adequate software knowledge. This proved crucial to deal with global supply chains and maintaining transparency in our operations.

In the last ten months at this company, I was promoted to the position of a warehouse clerk. Here, I got the opportunity to coordinate with senior warehouse coordinators and mastered relevant skills in warehouse management. I am a person who remains open to acquiring fresh knowledge all the time. I discovered my innate quest for knowledge and learned pretty fast. I also managed to accomplish my tasks within the deadlines, which drew the appreciation of my manager. Looking forward, I would like to work with some of the largest logistics and supply chain management companies in India. These include Apollo LogiSolutions, Allcargo Logistics, and Container Corporation of India, among others. However, the lack of a formal degree in logistics and supply chain management is holding me back from gaining promotions on my professional front. To spearhead my career in the desired field, I decided to equip myself with a foreign degree. This will give me an edge over my peers in India as I stride ahead in my career.

In Australia, the courses offered by top universities are perfectly integrated into the industry. This makes the learning outcome relevant for the aspirants. Particularly, I have found the course curriculum to be perfect for me. The course comprehensively includes modules on inventory management, warehousing, logistics and supply chain management, transportation and distribution, procurement, international business ethics, and integrated supply chain management. As a part of my BBA course, I am already familiar with some modules on accounting for business, entrepreneurship for market impact, and project management. I would like to undergo intense training through the modules on marketing principles-trading & exchange, integrated supply networks, managing sustainability in supply chain, procurement for strategic advantage, and business intelligence. The practical nature of this course makes it suitable for me. Besides, students get the opportunity to intern at the partner companies to gain relevant professional exposure. Considering all these aspects, along with the supportive academic environment and impressive campus life, I decided to pursue this course in your revered institution. I will also share my knowledge of supply chains with my peers and refine the learning environment when I get an opportunity to study at this university.

Back in India after completing this course, I can bag salary packages ranging between INR 20 lakhs and INR 25 lakhs per annum. It would be a privilege for me to tap the opportunities of an inventory manager, transportation and distribution head, or a supply chain manager at one of the leading companies. The course I am willing to pursue at your esteemed organization will put me on track for a dynamic career in India. Therefore, I am looking forward to pursuing the Master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Southern Australia.
